Upgrading to a mains pressure cylinder:
The biggest two reasons that people change over to a mains pressure hot water cylinder are that you get much better shower pressure, and you have more choice when it comes to choosing tapware and fixtures. Keep in mind that if you change over, some of your existing fittings that are designed for unequal pressure may need to be changed as well. We can check these for you and let you know.
The first choice is whether to stay with an electric hot water cylinder, or change to an infinity:
*If you choose an infinity, you will need to have a gas connection, and infinities are usually fitted on an external wall, which will require your plumbing to be altered.
*If you choose a cylinder, people usually choose a larger size, as you will use more water on mains pressure. This also requires a drain added, which can be difficult if your house is build on a concrete slab. We come in, remove the old cylinder, alter the pipe work and remove the roof vent. Then fit the new cylinder and a tempering valve which protects people from being scalded.
